New York City’s MTA Stations Are Getting an Involuntary Face Lift.
I live just outside Washington DC and to be perfectly honest, wonder how New York City gets all the proper vandals. Is there not enough corruption and greed here in the District to motivate, or at least agitate some homegrown street artists to produce output this easily accessible? The images and videos posted below are taken from Poster Boy NYC’s Photostream and should tell you just about everything you’ll need to know about the razor driven process behind this man’s particular brand of anti-media awesome. Vigilantes with high minded aspirations are few and far between, but this die-hard Fight Club fan hopes to start a decentralized art movement, one where anyone can claim to be Poster Boy. “No copyright, no authorship,” he says. “A social thing, as opposed to being an artist making things for bored rich people to hang above their couch.” As someone who sits in front of a computer all day, I must admit that watching the creation of artwork this analog puts a pretty big smile on my face. Enjoy.
